Earth Hour: Lights out on March 28

Mike P sends over a note about a March 28 international event called "Earth Hour." The World Wildlife Fund is calling on everyone to turn off their lights at 8:30 p.m. and spend one hour in darkness. The event is designed to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

My wife and I did this last year and had fun playing cards by candlelight. Check out a video here for more this year's event.

Thanks for the tip, Mike!

  1. Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com

  2. Heck.. I am going to celebrate American abundance by turning on everything including the dryer and leave the frig/freezer doors open. Then I am going to leave the house and watch the smokestack at Oak Creek.

I suggest everyone do the same. We can meet at 7 mile and 32, start a fire and drink and dance!

    What do ya say?

  3. Rep Cory Mason backs Earth Hour every hour of every day. His lights are off, all he has to do is what Doyle tells him no matter how many lose their job! They can simply move to Michigan or Vancouver
