Heritage Title moving from Sixth Street to West Racine

Sixth Street's loss is West Racine's gain.

Heritage Title, 610 Sixth St., is pulling out of Downtown Racine and moving to West Racine. An employee confirmed Wednesday the title insurance company was moving, but we were unable to reach owner Rhonda Lapotko. Lapotko owns the building, which was assessed at $178,000 in 2008.

The move is scheduled for some time in December.

Heritage Title has been in business since 1963.

  1. Was the move voluntary or were they harassed off of 6th St.?

  3. Dear 8:44 A.M.,That's just what I'd like to know too. It's notorious that businesses which cater to low and middle-income people are being nudged out of our much-touted "Heart of the Arts" district.

  4. Before you get your undies in a bundle - the real story is that Ambassador Title is buying out Heritage Title and Ambassador is already in West Racine. Heritage title is out of business - so back off on the downtown, arts district or 6th St ignorant comments. Dustin and Pete - you might want to report the real story.

  5. Yeah, and since when is title insurance a business that caters to low and middle income people? It caters to anyone buying a home. You guys need to check into things before you post something

  6. Heritage title is not a fancy boutique, a high priced cafe, or an art gallery. Get your facts strait. They do harass businesses off Washington Ave., 6th St, and downtown. Just ask several of the previous business owners that were harassed and the several still being harassed. Amazing that one was not harassed and actually amazingly needed to relocate. That is the real story. How strange.
