Five different people, on separate occasions, have brought up how annoying they find the JT's "Alice in Wonderland" ad running on the front of their website. Anyone over there: The ad revenue isn't worth it.
That's so funny....count me in as hating it too. It always happens when I'm about to click on one of the lead articles on the right. It really pissed me off because it wasn't very apparent how to close it.
You can close the ad but the JT hides the closer thing (technical term) in the upper left hand corner. It is seriously annoying!! I live in BTown and I hate ChocolateFest!
It doesn't bother me - just scroll down and look at the lower headlines first and it will go away. Whether you like their abiloty to gather and write up news, it is their site and we all get to look at it for $0. Many newspaper sites have these, in fact, the Journal Sentinel's sometimes crashes my browser -
I think it is good the JT wants to advertise the Chocolatefest event but do they have to do it this way? It is annoying how this ad just pops up when you are trying to read one of the news items. So when this happens to me, I turn off the computer and do not go back on because I read Racinepost first and than go to JT, so if I can not get any news from JT, that's okay because I have the most important news from Racinepost or the Mt. Pleasant Citizen. JT really needs to take a lesson from these two news sites.
I find it to be the most amazing ad ever invented. The fact that all these people on here have taken to time to complain about the ad has made the ad more effective than you know. I bet you wont forget about chocolatefest and how that ad made your day so awful by you having spare 15 seconds of your time to deal with it. ha ha my day is going so much better now.
Annoying is a nice word for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's horrible!!!
I hate it, I won't even read the paper online because of it.
