Gas prices hit $3/gallon in Racine

Gas prices hit $3 a gallon in parts of the city over the weekend, but that's far from the best deal in the city.

Prices ranged from $2.85 per gallon to $3 per gallon at Racine area gas stations. The state average is $2.88 per gallon, according to wisconsingasprices.com. Nationally, gas prices averaged $2.82 per gallon.

Prices are up about 80 cents over the past year and 20 cents in the past month.

  8. Anon 12:48. Just how much does gasoline cost in Europe where there is supposed to be such a wonderful regional rail system? One might surmise that you might actually want gasoline prices to continue rising so that your rail system could drag a few more motorists on to your beloved train.

How exactly will we move other goods around? Will there be a rail spur to Regency Mall? How will the prices of goods at Regency Mall be affected by $7 gas?

  11. I thought that once Wisconsin dropped the minimum markup law, the price of gas was supposed to drop? It seems like it's only gone up and the perceived monopoly continues, since when one station raises their prices, the rest seem to do the same.
