So, you want to be Hugh Hefner for a day...

Painted Muse provides photographers a unique photo shoot

Boomers of my generation grew up through their testosterone-fueled adolescence believing there was no luckier man in America than Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy magazine, whose job (this is work?) was to photograph beautiful women. Naked beautiful women.

The decades pass by so quickly, the internet has made Playboy largely irrelevant, but the dream lives on... And is sometimes satisfied.

Come with me to Northwestern Avenue, behind the clock tower in the old Horlick Malted Milk factory complex. There, models and photographers -- mostly amateurs with day jobs -- came together Saturday for a day of fun and photography. Was there nudity? Yes, but it was tasteful nudity enhanced by colorful and imaginative body painting.

Jon Wenger shows Katrina Folberg the pictures he took

Let me stress from the outset that no hanky-panky ensued. One of the models, Katie Hutchins, 20, of Rockford -- a gorgeous 20-year-old blonde wearing, if that's the right word, a see-thru halter top and a Paris Hilton pout -- even brought her mother, Stacy Bradley, to the photoshoot. Mom said she was there not as a chaperone, but to provide support as her daughter tries to break into the modeling business: "This is my first time seeing her posing. I think it's beautiful, seeing her in motion. I'm very proud.,"

Still, this is not a PG story, so all you prudes should go elsewhere.

For me, the event began about 1 p.m., when I opened the door and walked into a big open space filled with about two dozen mostly male photographers and an equal number of models, mostly female. At first glance, most of the models were wearing elaborate costumes: for example, an elaborate black and gold Art Deco outfit, an African costume, a tiger skin, a baseball uniform, a red and white striped Teddy. It was only upon closer examination that you saw that most of the "costumes" were ... body paint! The stylists and models had arrived about 9 a.m. to begin a transformation that, in some cases took hours.

Amy Anderson strikes a sultry pose for photographer

Yes, it was a tough job, interviewing and photographing nearly naked beautiful women, but I persevered...

"I'm an artist. Your rules don't apply" said the t-shirt worn by Kat Beringer, a body painter and makeup artist from Chicago who was painting the face and torso of Jeanie, a 26-year-old model from Milwaukee, who stood patiently in shorts -- and nothing else. Jeanie, like some of the models present, didn't want her real name used.

Tatiana Zierath-Visintainer, 34, a model from the Twin Cities, stood virtually nude for about two hours, as Dawn Marie Svanoe, a professional body artist from Madison, transformed her into a colorful jester.

"It's all about making it as flattering as possible. It's not just about sex," said Svanoe, "It's an art form. It's an honor to paint this young lady... and when I'm done, I want her to be proud to put the pictures up in her house." Tatiana, who models "alternative, gothic, nude and bondage," said, "I'm hoping one day to get some money out of this."

Katrina Folberg, 20, from Cedarburg, a pre-med student painted into a baseball-like uniform (well, a crop top and short shorts) said she was there just to help photographers build their portfolios.

"Little Alice," as she calls herself, was painted to resemble a deer -- "it's an Okapi, an Amazon deer, my favorite animal," she said. "I just picked it out." Her body was painted by Gerald Mews of Westville, a full-time makeup artist, and included antlers made of small twigs stuck into two hairstyle buns at the top of her head. It was an artistic depiction, and she stayed in character, holding her hands like little hooves for picture after picture. She was deeply into the performance, but planned, after a couple of hours to wash it off and re-emerge as something totally different.

The 4,200 sq. ft. studio space -- one big room, high ceilings, brick walls, high windows -- had half a dozen makeup artists, hair stylists and body painters along one wall, with the rest of the space divided up into nine photo studios, each with an uncluttered backdrop and studio lights in large, 7-ft. reflectors. The photographers each had a little device mounted to their digital camera's flash shoe, a "Pocket Wizard" ($169 from Amazon.com) that wirelessly triggered each studio's flash. Given the equipment, lighting and beautiful models, it was hard to take a truly bad picture. And if you did, many photographers were willing to provide advice and assistance.

The day went like this: A model would offer to pose, and half a dozen photographers, in turn, would direct her movements and shoot as many pictures as desired. When done, the next photographer would step up. Sometimes, two or three models would pose together. Multiple shoots were going on simultaneously.

Most of the models said they participated for the fun of it, and to build up their portfolios. Amy Anderson, 23, a psychology major from Elgin -- a redhead painted in zebra stripes who models with a band -- said events like Saturday's bring out "My crazy wild side. I'm untamed, solitary, free."

Faith Enfire -- not her real name, she said, because she works in a bank "and they wouldn't appreciate this" -- is 28, and enjoys competing with the 19-year-olds. She just wanted to get published. "My goal is to get one print out of this," in a magazine or on a flyer.

Wearing a red-and-white-striped Teddy and posing for sexy pin-ups was Debra Schneiderwind, of Mt. Horub, who confessed that she'll turn 42 "at the end of January." Her day job is that of dental lab technician -- "I make teeth," she said. Dina Osterberg, 27 of Chicago, said she's been modeling since she was 21. "I work in accounting," she said. "This is something I do for fun."

Some of the photographers were professionals -- Jon Wenger of Roscoe, IL, for example, is a full-time fashion photographer, and Mike Crouse of Spring Grove, IL, a real estate appraiser, calls himself a semi-professional photog who does portraits, sports and cars. But most were amateurs; all said their wives or girlfriends knew what they were doing Saturday, but at least two told me, "she doesn't approve."

Most of the models are registered for work with the Model Mayhem website, "where professional models meet professional photographers." Saturday's event was put on by Painted Muse Productions, which creates events "to encourage artistic design, fun, and networking opportunities for the Midwestern glamour scene." The two men who run Painted Muse are a photographer from Kenosha (who, after this article was published decided he didn't want his name or image used) and Adam. Baker. "We try to provide something unique to shoot," said Mr. Now-Anonymous.

The two dozen or so photographers who participated each paid $150 for the day. Models were not paid, but pictures are jointly owned by the models and photographers. The hairstylists and makeup artists are paid.

The best way to hear about events like this is to become a member of the three Meetup.com photography groups in the Milwaukee area. The Painted Muse workshop was held at Michael Lee LaPointe's studio behind the clock tower off Northwestern Avenue. Studio MLP often holds free meetup workshops; I attended a very down-to-earth, helpful one last week on portrait lighting. The next one is Feb. 27 on digital camera basics. It, too, is free.

  4. I have a Race Shop in the next building, thanks for doing this article. My curiosity has been piqued all year. If you girls or Photographers ever want a Race car, or antique Austin Healey car as a prop, let us know. I saw one of the girls out by our Dumpster saturday grabbing some twigs from a dead bush for a prop, lol

  5. Amazingly artistic. This event will put Racine on the map and maybe start a new trend for the youth of America. New jobs created in Racine. Now how about some equality and show photos of the men that posed and the women photographers who took their photos!

  14. About two dozen photographers paid $150 each to be there but the models got - photos for their portfolio. I'm sure the models also had to sign model releases so the photographers can use the photos any way they choose, and if any of the photographers make money from any of the photos the models involved won't see one dime. This looked like a nice event but hey, can you take care of the models a little bit more than this?

Hello, I am Little Alice from the article and I want to say something to those who think this is "tasteless" and "sleezey," this event is handled professionally and all models are respected. In progress photos are taken, but always "Facebook friendly" and with the model's permission. Many photographers even photoshop out nipples so that models are free to post these without fear of sites being offended. Not only that but everyone is an adult- everyone is 18+ and everyone is there because they enjoy the experience.

And I was the one picking the sticks for my antlers, lol.

You can find my work at http://www.modelmayhem.com/AliceGothica and see for yourself that there is an artform to this. Not only that but as the article said body painting is not the only thing we do. I do a full range including the adorable and sought after Japanese Lolita.

It's fun, there is no "true" nudity, and everyone gets into character.

I appreciate your concern but the photographers pay the money for the event to cover the studio cost, makeup artists, body painters, and hair stylists. The models do not get paid for the event but are able to work with crew that normally would cost an arm and a leg. Often times though the models do get paid work because of what these photos add to their portfolio, I can attest to that.

But hey, being paid is always nice. :)

I'd like to stress what alice said. This is about the artistry. We do this for the love and fun it.It's not about the nudity

  20. Little Alice and anon 12:21 - I understand that you get paying gigs from the porfolio shots, HOWEVER, if someone puts a print out there for a few hundred dollars or more, don't you think part of your release should say "hey, I get 10%"? And yes, btw, I do this as a paying hobby.

    ReplyDelete
  21. anon 1:06 PM

I think if you are only going to take paying gigs, you are going to miss out on some huge oppurtunities. Some people do this to create art and some people are here to use this to make money.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anon 1:25 - there is a difference between "open" venues for "starving artists" and "amateurs" (I have worked those for free) and posing for artists who have the means to compensate, especially if a pricey piece sells.

  23. Art is art and to be concerned of cash simply cheapens it.

  25. When you are hungry, can you eat art? When your crappy car breaks down, will art give you a ride? When you can't pay the rent this month because a booking or script fell through, will art give you a place to live? To not put a value on yourself at some point cheapens YOU, and keeps the going rate for all the other models way cheap.

I do this for fun. We have a great core group that I love to work with.

I have a real job that pays all the bills.

Time for print is when the images can benefit everyone and as Alice mentioned, we can't afford to pay for painters and muas and hair ourselves and most of the photographers we work with don't have that in their budget either.

I'm sure if you are good enough to be paid, an event like ours doesn't affect your ability to be paid. :)

and willy, I'll pass along your information to the two coordinators from this event, too. :)

Why has this become an attack on the models and the photographers? As for the whole "you guys should be charging more and prints cost this and blah blah blah" these events do NOT directly create any money. The photographers do not sell prints of the photos from these events, they are only used for portfolio use, no money.

If the photographers were to start selling prints they would have to create a contract with said model and then allocating the cash would begin. But since that doesn't happen we all just have a good time at these events and don't worry about paperwork like that.

As for our going rates, I'm actually fairly expensive to book and the photographers who work with me know that. These events do not "cheapen" me or my skills, they are for me to have fun and test out ideas for paid gigs.

No one is starving that comes to these events, they all either get money from outside jobs, from their photography/modeling, or their parents. I don't even see why any of this matters, these events are about FUN and ART. We're all friends at these events. Should I get all uppity about when someone throws a dinner party? Seriously, stop making this into something that it isn't.

  34. Dawn Marie Svanoe here. This quote is not what I said at all... in fact, the man that was asking questions never asked for anything but my name and where I was from.

"It's all about making it as flattering as possible. It's not just about sex," said Svanoe, "It's an art form. It's an honor to paint this young lady... and when I'm done, I want her to be proud to put the pictures up in her house."

What I DO want everyone to know is that this is an art form. It isn't about sex AT ALL... that is just what the masses, in their small little worlds, and the sleazes who do use it for sex, want you to think. I have never looked at my models as anything but one of the most beautiful "canvases" there is.

It is an art form that causes the world to slow down and enjoy. It's not going to be there tomorrow... you must enjoy it at the moment.

  36. The more I read this article, the more I'm getting upset. Not only at the article, but at some of the responces it is getting.

This event was supposed to show the beauty and artistry involved with modeling and body painting. We, as models, do these types of events for the fun of it. It gives us a chance to get together, socalize, work with people we may not have the chance to any other time and have some fun. We don't get paid, except in prints for our portfolios.

The fact that many of us were mis-quoted is very upsetting. If just asking names, locations, and what we were being painted as put all those other words in the article, then I'm sorry I said anything.

None of the photos taken at the event were pornographic in nature, in fact all the girls were either wearing thongs or special pasties and nipples are often taken out in photoshop. This is about using the human body as a canvas, not plastering private parts on the internet.

  46. First off. This is poor journalism at its finest. This guy took advantage of what he does to make soething perfectly innocent look like a sleazy pornographic event. He did not disclose his intentions to the models at all. From the beginning his headline made this sound as if it is something it isnt. Now these girls have to worry about not only their privacy but also their safety as this guy has basically put up a billboard telling the undesirables where to go for a good time. I was not at this event this time because i was out of town. But these girls mean the world to me and this disrespect is too much. As for the person who called it porn, you are truly a simple minded dumbass. Best I can call it. You dont know nor understand what this is about. Oh my god girls show their boobs while being painted. How horrible. Idiot. And the guy who did this article needs to apologize to every person involved for his deception and wreckless "journalism"

  47. That "thing" on her "Fart box" is a thong that has been glued in place for the sake of covering the goods and making it more acceptable to the close-minded people who think it's porn.

If it weren't for people like you, who are so afraid to see what we've all got, it wouldn't have to be there. I suppose you cover your children's eyes when passing a nude statue too!?

I've worked very hard to make what I do NOT be equated with pornography. And to have myself MISQUOTED as saying that it even comes close to having anything to do with sex is really disheartening. This "journalist" literally put words into my mouth. He never even asked me any questions... my "quote" was completely fabricated.

    1. I want to ask why someone thought it was OK for some of those shots but, for one, the baseball uniform was tasteless (or worse). Even Sports Illustrated has a spread each year in the swimsuit issue that has women painted with various sports team uniforms.

    2. Dawn Marie/sparklys - you made the nude statue comment - isn't it amazing that the average person thinks Michelangelo was a genius but the same people never considered the fact that he used countless nude models to paint from.

    3. As for the person who claims to have reported the young lady to her bank, you are just a spineless imbecile who probably takes it upon himself to drive slow in the left lane under the pretense of making us all safer. I am sure this person doesn’t have the brains to figure out which bank it is nor the stones to actually call them.

My name is Adam Baker. I am the co-founder of Painted Muse Productions and the host for this Painted Muse Photo Shoot.

To the skeptics, critics, and even the inflamed of temperment, I invite and encourage you to contact me directly with your questions, concerns, and even insults about our collective of artists and our events - that is, as opposed to bashing the participants.

    phoenixofmiltown@gmail.com

I would ask however that you keep in mind that Painted Muse is a private event, as opposed to something like SI or Maxim which uses the medium of body painting to market publicly.

I also invite you to take a look at our showcase list from our first event back in June.
    http://www.modelmayhem.com/list.php?list_id=226433

If you notice, many of these designs and photos are fun, colorful, and appropriate for public display. The ones that are deemed even remotely "risque", like those found in SI and Maxim, are marked "M" and are not viewable to the general public - only to patrons of the Model Mayhem community.

Thanks again to everyone who participated and helped to bring a new, fresh, and exciting event to the Racine area. A "Pin-Up" style shoot is already in the works and will feature classic cars, 40's style hair-dos, and lacey coursets & stockings - just like the ones that were painted on our Air Force Bombers during WWII :)

Thank you, I'm glad that you see they aren't the same. The models that attend these events are not models that are signed with agencies or making huge amounts of money. Some only do it as a hobby, while others do it to build their portfolio for paid work. We are in no way "taking jobs from other models." The type of work we do is usually labeled as "alternative modeling" which is generally outside of your basic print and agency modeling (gigs they wouldn't take anyway).

Plus as Adam said these are private events. Yes anyone is welcome to join the event, but only so many people are allowed to attend and participate. It is not some simple free-for all where anyone can pretend to be a photographer or model, references are checked by the coordinators prior to invitations being accepted. While they do give beginners a chance, morons with cameras and girls who don't take this seriously generally are not invited.

I ask everyone to please please do your research and know what you are talking about before you bash an artistic event like this. The modeling industry is highly complex with many different branches and levels. ANTM is NOT a good representation for how the business really is.

  58. Alice - I figured that all models and photographers were vetted, otherwise no one feels comfortable. Some of your photos look like they were done by Jonathan F. in Highland Park, especially the ones in Lake Michigan. I know they aren't but I'll bet you've worked together - or you would like to work together.

I in no way "degraded" any of your "site visitors." If you mean my comment on calling out the guy who was being a jerk that was stating the obvious, he IS being an asshole by saying he is going to contact Faith's bank just because he got a little offended about some artful nudity. If anything, why don't ask to have the "visitors" who are degrading the models and photographers who did this event to have THEIR posts removed? Or is it okay to "degrade" said models and photographers and let jerks act like they have the right to ruin someone's job just because of their personal life?

  64. Pete, in response to:
"Here it is: I have my notebook with the exact quotation from Dawn written down, word-for-word. I have tried to contact Dawn four times (email and phone) to discuss her comments above, to no avail."

    BULL!!! Four times my tokus!!!

You called me at 10:01am, Tuesday, January 26th and left a message at 10:02am. The email was sent to me on Mon, January 25, 2010 at 11:51:06 PM.
The reason you didn't hear back from the email is because I had just gotten home from my day job, at which I have no access to my personal email. I just read it. And the phone call didn't get returned because my cell got left home on the charger today. Just got that message too.

    Here is your email:
    "Dawn,
I have to say I resent your comments to my story. You DID say exactly what I quoted -- I have it word-for-word in my notebook.
Yes, I just "asked" you your name and where you are from -- but you kept talking and I was standing there taking it all down in my notebook. Word for word. I've been a journalist for more than 40 years... And I was wearing a press card!
Just what did I quote you saying that you disagree with, or that you believe you didn't say? There's nothing unflattering here at all... so I'm really confused. Your own statement below says pretty much exactly what I quoted you as saying at the event. And, frankly, I appreciated the quote, because it did put everything in perspective.... which is why I quoted you.
I even have two of your business cards...one given by you, one by one of the other models you painted. And I credited you for that in the cutline.
    pete"

I remember specifically, that when you came over to my area, you asked Tatiana her name, age, occupation, why she does it, etc... When I then told you my name and handed you my card, you took it and left. I remember because I commented to the model that it was odd that you didn't ask the artist any questions. WE DIDN"T SPEAK TO EACH OTHER BEYOND MY NAME.

On top of which, I was painting with time constraints and didn't look up to see your "press card". I just assumed you were press because of the questions you were asking Tatiana.
Just because you have been press for 40 years is no reason for anyone to believe that what you quoted is what I said. What? You have a pen, and wrote something down therefore, it is fact?

    ReplyDelete
  65. What I took exception to was the part of the "quote" that said "It's not JUST about sex." As if it had ANYTHING to do with sex. I would NEVER say that. I have tried too hard for too long to counteract what the general public's opinion on body art is, only to make a comment that makes it sound like sex has anything to do with it.

The other part, where I supposedly commented on Tatiana being "proud to put the pictures up in her house", is also fabricated. Most of the models at events like these use the pictures solely to boost their online ports and never print them. So, why would I say that?

On another note, I was completely flabberghasted by the fact that because you are "press" you feel you are allowed to take in-process, semi-nude shots of the models and post them on a public blog. BIG TABOO in this industry! I do thank you for taking the almost completely nude shot of Tatiana down. If I'd have see you taking those pictures I'd have spoken with Adam about making you delete them.

Much of what you said in the article was fine. I just don't like having words put in my mouth. PERIOD!!! Even if what you say I said "put everything into perspective", it does not give you the right to attribute it to me. And by your own admission in your email to me you said that you quoted "pretty much" what I said.

I will not waste my time, or my dime calling you back. I prefer to have everything out in the open for the public to see so that there can be no question as to what you or I said.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. You say I said it. I know I didn't.

  67. Gotta say, as a one-time "canvas" of Dawn Marie's, there is NOTHING about sex going on with her painting a nude body. She does phenomenal work, and makes the best of every canvas she works on, regardless of size, shape, previous art, etc. I know ... with a "canvas" of well over 300 pounds, she made me into art that I have actually been able to show to family and friends, and that I absolutely cherish as something that helps me love who I am a little bit more.

    ReplyDelete
  76. So, just to verify...
the definition of "porn" includes the intent to cause sexual desire. And the participants are indicating that there was ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH INTENT?

Really? You want me to believe that? Perhaps Little Alice with her deer antlers had no such intent, but the girl with the painted on "booty shorts", sucker and ponytails (a typical pornographic combination) certainly can't make the same claim nor can the girl with the "see through white top" pouting into the camera.

I believe Little Alice when she says that porn was not her intent. However, I don't think that she can validly speak for everyone there. By having even two models or photographers present whose intent WAS to create sexually stimulating poses or photographs, the entire event was slanted as such.

In addition, I doubt that Pete's analysis of the event came out of nowhere. I'm sure that, at some point, one of the photographers or organizers gave the impression that talking about this event in an overtly sexual manner would be acceptable. Perhaps the more creative/artistic folks like Little Alice should take that into consideration when attending events like this or by these individuals. Although your own intent may be pure, it is quite evident that this was NOT a solely artistic event.

I'd hate to lose the potential for more art in this community, but I don't want such degradation of the form either. For that reason, it is my hope that these organizers leave our community out of future plans.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Events such as this are a true BENEFIT to a community which has so many other problems. Artistic venues such as this are the only reason that Me and My Wallet would ever visit Racine.

This is community. It is collaboration. It is creativity. It is fun.

There's no drugs, alcohol, or bad attitudes at these events, and yet some people still criticize.

This is why consitutional issues and Freedom of Speech are so critical. My fellow MM'ers, there are indeed many "Americans" who seem to hate free speech, they hate artistic axpression, and they hate to see others having fun.

It's called the pursuit if happiness. Being able to express ones self, and to simply gather for the purpose of some lawful activity is fundamental to our constitution, culture, and civilization. Is this not "self evident" ?

Sadly, IT DOES NOT amaze me that there are "some people" who criticize these events.

This IS art and community in the strictest sense and I love everything you guys are doing. It is my sincere hope that you will enjoy the greatest possible success in 2010, you would be an valued asset to ANY community in America.

Wow this got childish fast! "My wallet!" "This girls are from elsewhere!" "Oh noes boobies!"

    Seriously?

To be honest I'm far more appalled at the crap they put all over the television and the news than I could ever be at these events, even with JEM running around, oh JEM...lol.

It is okay for the television to put such crap as Telia Tequila "I don't know if I'm gay or not" and confuse my nieces and nephews on how homosexual people behave (because this show depicts them as being sex-crazed whores) but not okay for a small community to get together, in a building shielded from the public, to create art.

    Right....

What people do behind closed doors is their business and this event is very careful not to let anyone be outside of the building if they are not in a "Facebook Friendly" outfit, so no one in the community is going to accidentally happen upon random naked people. And for that matter these images ultimately end up on professional modeling sites where they are specified as 18+ so that people not a member of those modeling sites cannot see them.

Where's the harm? Where's the porn?

I'll tell you where, it's being created by teenage girls everywhere with their camera phones on Myspace because mommy and daddy are too embarrassed with bodily functions to explain to their daughter how her own body works. That's where it is. And I can personally attest to that because of my own uptight family, I saw plenty of my girl cousins do the same thing while mommy and daddy spazzed over their rosaries.

So grow up, get your head out of your butt and let consenting adults (because you have to be over 18 to attend these events) create their visions. Art is art because some think it is grand, and others think it is trash. Art is ultimately the interpretation of something. And I personally am glad that our art has created such a response, albeit no a positive one, but people responded none the less.

Who's made a response about what you have accomplished today?

speaking as a model that has attended many events at this location- US MODELS are NOT stupid. We are most definitely NOT sluts either. Most of us have jobs, families, or are going to school. It really is about the art, and it's also just a good time! I enjoy the days I spend in Racine. I have met some great photographers that are by all means NOT CREEPS and wonderful girl and guy models that have come to be awesome friends.

I could see people's concern IF the models were running around Racine naked while having their pictures taken, but they aren't.

Overall- it's fun, it's artistic, it's something different to add to our portfolios, and always an enjoyable time with good friends!

People- ease up on the "attacking". If you don't like the idea of this-okay, but that doesn't mean that you need to ruin people's lives over it. And seriously, leave Faith alone. She's a hard working girl and doesn't deserve what she is getting from this!!!

I can understand why you would feel that way about certain "wardrobe choices" that some of the models made. But again, part of this is because of how this article is presented-the photos presented are NOT final products, they are behind the scenes snapshots taken by the creator of this article. But assuming that it must be porn is like seeing a behind the scenes snapshot of an agency model in a studio naked, when the end product is actually an advertisement for handbags. You just can't know if you aren't privy to ALL of the information.
If you are curious as to any of the final products from this event, they can be seen on the list "Events I Have Been to-Painted Muse" on my profile http://www.modelmayhem.com/AliceGothica. So far I haven't seen finished photos of either of the models "in question" but I'm sure they were not "spread shots" or any of that jazz.

Perhaps not to you Jas, but to some it may be. Art is in the eye of the beholder. The beauty of being human is that we differ. In my opinion the female form is the greatest form of art in the world. nudity does not equal pornography, Pornography equals pornography. This picture you used as an example may not be art in your eyes but it isnt porn either which im sure you were trying to insinuate with your post. Most of these girls are very serious and whether you like their work or not, its up to the model what she likes and wants to do. Yes that is art and just because you don't think so doesn't make a difference to the photographer who created it or the client who desired it. As for "little alice, you are a good example of why furries are nut bags" you are obviously ignorant and full of hate. I'm not a furry and I'm sure plenty of other hard-heads in forums will argue the qualifications of "furrydom" with you for hours on end.

I think you could take a page out of your own "good book." It's teachings are about kindess, generosity, and respect for your fellow man. It doesn't say you have to agree with or like everything that everyone else does, but you at least have to respect it. And before you go on one of those ridiculous tangents that you ignorant people are wont to do, such as- "should we respect that murderers like to murder?!" -please, stay in focus of the topic and don't go to idiotic arguments as that. And if these art forms are so offensive to you, why did you read this article?

I'll tell you why, because you're an ignorant, mean spirited person who was bored and decided to bash the characters of the people portrayed (incorrectly and in bad light) in this article.
