Dickert no longer agent on Tingles' house

Mayoral Candidate John Dickert is no longer the real estate agent selling the home owned by Sandra and Frank Tingle, the couple suing the city over allegations of sexual harassment.

Dickert, a Realtor with First Weber, was listed as the agent for the Tingles' home at 1740 Park Ave. But his campaign said Tuesday real estate agent Erin Manders is now the agent on the home.

It's a smart move by Dickert, and likely one of several instances where he'll have to hand over real estate listings if he's elected mayor. He estimates he sold over $5 million each year for the last two years. Dickert has said he'll leave behind all of his real estate dealings if elected mayor.

The Tingles are interesting because Sandra filed a complaint against the city alleging former City Administrator Ben Hughes sexually harassed her. The state threw out the complaint, but Tingle can appeal the ruling until May 2010.

  1. So what other house listings has he handed over? Is Racine Post going to post each one if there is anything interesting about the people living there? This isn't newsworthy.

  3. Smart thing to do. We certainly do not want the mayor to have any conflicts of interests. He should be commended for proactively doing this.

  4. Dickert will put Becker to shame in the good old boy system use of Government to enrich your freinds.

  5. I expect the next article from Racine Post to be something like "The song an informant heard John Dickert whistling on an elevator last week".

Seriously, was it that slow of a news day today?

  6. Wow - This is one way to rile up the Dickert hacks.

  7. Ben- He is getting rid of a possible conflict of interest well before it is a problem. This is called good government. How could he do it better?

Man, sounds like Johnny is going to take a serious pay cut if he wins the election!!

Proves that "Power" is more gratifying than money.

  9. Reality check, in 2008 Mr. Dickert closed $5.1 Mil, in 2007 Mr. Dickert closed $1.324 Mil, as reported through the Multiple Listing Service. (Harmless puffing no doubt)

  11. What kind of a Mayoral candidate would be representing a person who has a complaint against the City?

Errr...he really should have gotten out of this when he announced he was running for Mayor. It's not that big a deal, but we could have hoped that he would have been smarter about managing any appearance of impropriety.

  15. You are right, it isn't a big deal, hell, it isn't even news.

  17. I for one would not give up any job until I knew I had a newone or at least a good shat at a new one. Leave Dickert alone, he's just trying to make a living. He should NOT have given up that listing before the primary, there was no reason to do that. I don't even think if there is a reason to do it now, only after he is elected. This Dickert works hard, and I've never seen Turner do anything that resembles work. Dickert looks good to me on this.

    This sounds very Beckerish.

  19. This is a weak excuse for a news story.

  20. The Tingles are interesting because she filed a complaint? Are you serious? How many people have filed complaints against the county, city, state, etc?
Maybe John figured that he couldn't do a good job for many of his clients because he is now running for office full time? I think it's commendable for him to have done this and I'm sure he's finding other agents for all his clients.
Plus, I think that it proves that he's willing to sacrifice financial gain in order to be above and beyond reproach in regards to his profession v. his political activities.
What is Turner giving up to run for mayor? Nothing.

  22. I love their house - it's beautiful. Actually it's my second favorite house in the entire city. Granted, it's not the most expensive or in the most exclusive part of town, but it's gorgeous and I bet has an interesting history behind it.

The Tingles are NOT interesting. They have been contentious for years and hsve had trouble getting along with all sorts of folks. Her recent frivolous lawsuit is an example of what's wrong with our legal system.
