Type O liver donor needed by 14-year-old Madison girl

We found this notice today on Madison's School Information Systems blog (the best school site we know.) Hopefully, casting a wider net will catch a suitable and willing donor:

A 14-year-old Madison Memorial freshman is currently in Children's Hospital in acute liver failure. She is in immediate need of a liver transplant. No matches have been found in her extended family. If you meet all of the following criteria and would be willing to do further blood typing to see if you might be an appropriate donor, please call Karen at 708-287-1637.
18-55 years of age
Type O blood (RH positive or negative)
Not taking statin drugs
Non-smoker
Height and weight proportional
No personal history of liver disease
In an email this morning, the girl's grandmother wrote: "Know that adult to adult transplants are being done on a regular basis. Know that your liver regenerates. Know that living donors have successfully kept alive the dying, and both have gone on to live healthy, normal lives. Know that we are crying out for help…for someone who is a suitable match to appear for testing, and to save our beloved child... We are praying for a suitable match.. Are you out there? Are you willing? ... Just yesterday, after a series of painful, invasive procedures designed to keep her alive just a little longer, my darling girl told me, "I want to have a 15th birthday." Might you be the miracle who can give her that?"
