Racine has one less pizza chain in town. Papa John's at 6116 Regency West Drive is closed. The restaurant took down its sign Tuesday and its phone is disconnected. The strip mall where Papa John's was located sold in May for $1.8 million.
They've tried a couple of times to make it in Racine. Although I think their pizza is pretty good for a chain, it just doesn't compare to some of the outstanding local restaurants!
If only the Illinois boaters could have sailed to the Regency Mall area. Oh, wait a minute, they are busy frequenting the boarded storefronts in downtown Racine.
Maybe Papa John's should've opened Downtown where the action is!! Anyone want to open a Kringle Bakery?? Perhaps a Cheese and Sausage shop?? There is room an demand.
