City attorneys going to Brewers game Wednesday

If you're planning on suing the city, Wednesday would be a good day for a sneak attack. The staff of the city attorney's office is taking a group outing to the Milwaukee Brewers game vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. It's an afternoon game.

We were initially tipped on this by an anonymous reader, who asked us to find out if this group outing would be at taxpayers' expense. Assistant City Attorney Nicole Loop assured that it wouldn't.

"There's no way we'd bill something like this to the city," said Loop, who is taking a vacation day Wednesday to go to the game.

She added that the "day off" comes at a good time for the office. "It's been crazy busy for all of us," Loop said. "This will be a good chance for us to get to know each other outside of the office. It's a morale builder."

  1. I have an anonymous tip that the target security out with a bad case of diarrhea and the replacement has a slow gait. Perhaps this would be a good day to shoplift some Ginkgo Biloba and write something newsworthy.

  2. Wow! What a scoop! City employees using a vacation day to go to a ball game! What's next, an expose on how many times a day City employees use the bathroom?

  3. Vacation day? Uh huh. I never heard of a "team building day" that required a vacation day to attend. Maybe everyone's ten day vacation is now eleven - or 28 is 29. "Crazy busy"? Does this mean it is so busy that the attorneys are filing their own paperwork instead of billing out for legal services when the secretaries are doing most of it? Sorry, I was thinking of private sector law and I'm sure public sector law would be very different. Maybe they'll all come back from the game with a PhD in baseballogy form the University of South Slovenia.
