I think that is what counts. How much of our money goes towards administration locally? Be gullible. What I put in my post was told to me directly by United Way itself.

Here are the most accurate figures for the United Way and Red Cross CEOs:

Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross, was paid $468,599 in salary and benefits in fiscal 2003.

Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way, was paid $432,709 in salary and benefits in fiscal 2003.

These can be verified at:
http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_charities_salaries.htm

Organizations that can pay that kind of money, plus benefits, to a CEO will not receive any donations from me. You'll probably delete this as well, showing just how fair and balanced you are.Grahamnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-82718045849184274252009-12-21T09:17:30.651-06:002009-12-21T09:17:30.651-06:00Mr. Angry - why don't you comment about the $4...Mr. Angry - why don't you comment about the $4.9M contributed. United Way has an incredibly low overhead (see the annual report that Pete posted) and does NOT fund planned parenthood. Also, 99% of funds raised stay right here in Racine County to help families and individuals here who need it. It sounds to me like this is a good way to invest in our community!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-36599269481353404642009-12-14T14:38:56.693-06:002009-12-14T14:38:56.693-06:00Graham-

Except to United Way. Did you know that UW spends most (90%) of what it takes in on administrating the program and 10% actually makes it to those who need it. Would it not be more constructive to use those donations that we are able to generate in Racine to target some of our own short falls. I'm not saying don't donate to UW, do what you want, all I'm saying is 4.9 million is a lot of money to let go to Planned Parenthood to use to genocide blacks in our inner cities. I myself gave $1000.00 to Wisconsin Right To Life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-23343491557572415472009-12-11T13:06:26.166-06:002009-12-11T13:06:26.166-06:00Congratulations to those who Care.
