Exploit children and local fundraising groups to raise $400k, get old woman to donate a $250k building for $1, then leverage both cash & property to get a multimillion dollar mortgage from the bank, stop paying bills but cut yourself a finder's-fee as you let the project go defunct, and walk away from it all as the bank reclaims everything it can while people sue each other into submission. Lawyers/Scheisters win, the Kids lose, and a hard-working local family business is all that remains to continue being smeared for not wanting to extend millions of dollars in credit, and work for free, for a contract that was never signed.justsayinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-30563353335556106152020-01-31T12:11:14.969-06:002020-01-31T12:11:14.969-06:00They do enough for this city. Because recherche and avant garde art objects are status symbols while children's facilities generally lack prestige, the clan in question imposed an elitist institution with scant appeal to rank-and-file residents on the blue collar populace of a moribund and utterly corrupt company town. (None of the above should be construed as an attack on the good people who administer and staff a certain institution. Upon her death in 1998, we felt she would have loved to see children enjoying the activities in a place she so enjoyed. We requested donations to the Imaginarium in her memory. I was a little skeptical, as there were so many needs in our community that were already established that she also enjoyed. Today, I am cynical, and feel so badly that that money the people chose to donate was not directed in a manner more well intended.Barbara Pavlik Riegelmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-80360888371352843202009-10-29T08:16:21.985-05:002009-10-29T08:16:21.985-05:00Dear 7:58 A.M., Amen! The best plan of action would be to demolish the building and offer the land plot for sale. At this point in time the cost to renovate and clean the facility is prohibitive.

The Johnson Fund provided grant funds to get the Imaginarium project running, but the initial fund raising plan went nowhere based on the attendance figures. For example the numbers of attendance out stripped those of the Betty Brinn Museum in Milwaukee. Of course there was an entrance fee factored for school children that most likely would never be collected.

No one bought into the business plan, thus no one contributed the funds to renovate the facility. The only hope was the thought to secure a McDonald's restaurant that would help to offset the facility costs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-63598109804554677282009-10-28T13:28:27.414-05:002009-10-28T13:28:27.414-05:00Why not make the first floor into a theater and th...Why not make the first floor into a theater and the upper levels into apartments for low income people?Admiral on Decknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5583157134881112619.post-24890481185362226352009-10-28T12:44:06.572-05:002009-10-28T12:44:06.572-05:00Oh Mr Angry - your rididulus rants are really grow...Oh Mr Angry - your rididulus rants are really growing old.
